We love Stout Cozy, a thick, textured, cotton sweater knit made in France for designer Andria Lieu. She made a play on a traditional ribbed knit by curving the ribs in a wave designer. We love the two different heathered effects the knit creates. Take a tip from Judy Kessinger of FitNice and make a sweater-jacket with large decorative buttons but no buttonholes, using the buttons as adornments. Choose this when you pattern calls for a medium weight, all-way stretch stable knit. Ideal for sewing sweaters, cardigans, pull-overs, light capes and shawls, long sweater coats, and sweater dresses.
