Metallic thread is beautiful and notoriously difficult to sew with – it shreds, breaks, and skips stitches on a standard needle. The Schmetz Metallic needle in size 80/12 is built specifically to solve those problems. The elongated eye and specially designed groove reduce friction on the twisted or wrapped construction of metallic threads, letting them pass through cleanly at sewing speed. If metallic thread is causing you trouble, swap the needle first. Five needles per pack, system 130/705 H-MET.
